Rush Limbaugh hates America

November 14, 2009

Now, ladies and gentlemen, do you remember what a circus the Moussaoui trial was?  Zacarias Moussaoui?  We’ve seen all this before.  Do you remember during the trial of Moussaoui, even supposed 9/11 families showed up to plead for Moussaoui, to plead for leniency, to plead for justice.  That was a lot closer to the events of 9/11 and it was on a much smaller stage.  That trial was in the Washington area.  Now, this case is not going to go to trial for a couple years.  Can you imagine the discovery process alone, the motions, the papers, I shudder to think what a circus this is going to be become.  And I’m going to tell you, since 911, and in New York, you’ve gotta bunch of radical leftists who, after six years of ginned up hatred for George W. Bush, have as much hatred for this country as people who don’t live in New York, some people out on the Left Coast, and, believe me, there are enough people in this country who are going to applaud this country being on trial and some of them may even end up on the jury.

This is from Limbaugh’s show yesterday, where he is apparently upset that Holder wants to put suspected terrorists on trial.

What does he have to fear? If America is such a great country that he insists it is, if it needs no change, if the status quo is better than any other country has to offer, then isn’t the Constitution good enough for him? Doesn’t his desire for a new type of court case that hasn’t yet been established by the Constitution make him a Liberal?

It seems odd to suggest that people who want actually to prove that the people who are suspected of committing horrible crimes are actually guilty of horrible crimes hate America, doesn’t it? Especially when they want to do so within the confines of the laws that supposedly make America the great country that it is.

I may be missing something; I don’t have a lot of time to investigate exactly what Limbaugh means, but it seems clear from this little soundbite that he doesn’t trust America as it is.

Limbaugh apparently admires Sarah Palin. Remember one of her campaign quotes:

Our opponent is someone who sees America, it seems, as so imperfect that he’s palling around with terrorists who would target their own country.

This strikes me as apt in describing Limbaugh. He sees America as so imperfect that he would rather destroy the Constitution for the sake of some measly suspected terrorists. If he doesn’t hate America, he certainly doesn’t see it as great.
